Overview

The events industry is a dominant force in the media, achieving objectives and creating positive impacts. It will soon again fill transport systems, hotels, outdoor spaces, and venues. In 2019, the industry reported £70 billion in spending, over 50% of the UK visitor economy’s expenditure, providing over 700,000 jobs, and generating £165 billion in trade at business events.

The UK’s ability to harness the vitality, excitement, and business and social benefits created by events demonstrates that it remains a welcoming and open industry in a changing political and trading framework. The events industry has made significant strides in terms of its breadth, global competitiveness, and expertise, showcasing its importance as part of the government’s strategy to revive the economy post-pandemic. This presents an unparalleled opportunity to use both business and leisure events to showcase the country’s capabilities and resources, fostering national pride. This will drive demand for specialist graduates who understand business and events management theories and possess practical experience.

This course is designed to prepare graduates for the business and events sector, blending academic practices with the study of core business skills and management concepts, along with a live project. Completing this course will help students identify career pathways and develop the professionalism needed to achieve their goals.
