Overview

Our Mental Health and Wellbeing degree is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to identify, understand, and creatively respond to the various factors influencing issues and the importance surrounding all aspects of mental health and wellbeing.

This program prepares students for careers supporting individuals, communities, organizations, and society in maintaining and promoting mental health and wellbeing.

Throughout the program, students will develop a solid foundation of essential skills for effective mental health and wellbeing practice, ensuring a successful graduate career. Ethical practice is at the core of this degree, providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in diverse mental health and wellbeing services and positively impact the lives of individuals and their communities.

Students will examine biological, psychological, social, cultural, and environmental factors influencing mental health and wellbeing throughout individual lives. They will also develop an understanding of clinical, non-clinical, and individual perspectives. Additionally, students will explore services across public, private, and third sectors that work to improve, maintain, and promote mental health and wellbeing.

    Standard Entry: Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:

    • Level 2 qualification (GCSE’s or equivalent)
    • Level 3 qualification (GCE or equivalent)
    • Level 4 - Higher National Certificate

    Work Experience Route: Those who do not meet the above criteria may apply through work experience:

    • Minimum 6 months experience in a skilled job role
    • or 2 years in any job category
